LOCATION
The
Airpark is situated in the south east of Spain
in the small region of Murcia nestling between
the regions of Alicante and Andalucia. The
region of Murcia is unspoilt and rural and
the coast line of the province is called the
Costa Calida which means the hot coast. There
are very long sandy beaches, dotted with quiet
bays and coves and crystal clear blue waters.
Inland the countryside is landscaped with
mountains connected by large valleys. The
region is a favourite amongst the Spanish
tourists.
The Airpark is situated approx. 25 Km from
the beaches of Mazarron which can be reached
in 15 - 20 minutes on uncongested roads. The
Airpark is situated 200 m above sea level,
in a large valley near the 1.100 m high Sierra
Carascoy mountain range and the 1.600 m high
mountain range of the national park Sierra
Espuña. The Airpark is within an hour`s
drive of two international airports, Alicante
and Murcia (San Javier).
The capital of the region is also named Murcia
which is on the banks of the river Segura.
Murcia is a historic city which offers, cathedrals,
abbeys, universities, many museums and public
buildings. The city also offers modern shopping
centres, elegant boutiques, an assortment
of restaurants, cafes, theatres, cinemas and
bars.
On the coast, east of Mazarron is the naval
town of Cartagena , the home of the Spanish
Mediterranean fleet. Cartagena is a historic
town dating back some 3000 years with many
sites of antiquity mostly Roman. The architecture
is a mixture of old and modern, with many
churches, museums, public buildings and
parks. Good shopping, restaurants, cafes and
bars to visit.
